Little Red Gem. Reath. 1988. Herbaceous hybrid. American Peony Society Award of Landscape Merit. Single light red with finely cut fernleaf foliage. Dwarf plants make wonderful mound shaped plants. 12″ to 14″ height. Any easier subject to grow than the single or double flowered fern leaf species (P. tenufolia) and a very good alternative for unique fern leaf foliage. Clumps grow to a nice mound. Week 3 bloom time. Seed fertility. Parentage: Gwenda F2 x self. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
