Saharan Sun.  Bremer. 2019.  Advanced generation lutea hybrid.  Seedling: #NB-SH117.  Parentage:  (Age of Gold x Autumn Harvest).  Strong double to semi-double of medium-strong yellow flowers with light touches of rose on petal edges and are usually carried 1 to a stem, but sometime with a side bud.  Short red-maroon flares and filaments contrast nicely with lighter petal color.  Stigmas and sheath are cream in color.  Medium sized flowers are rather ball shaped and borne over an extended period, as side buds open later.   Flowers are generally carried in an outfacing position and are well displayed around the plant.  Light vanilla-like fragrance.  Plants dimensions in Wisconsin 3.5 feet high x 4.5 feet wide.  Excellent large medium green foliage.  Stems may be killed by winter conditions in Wisconsin, but regrow from basal shoots the following spring and bloom reliably.  Excellent strong grower with hybrid vigor.  Named for the flower’s rounded sun-like shape and brilliant color.   A warmly colored flower, displayed well on vigorous plants.  Named for the warm yellow sunlight that continually falls upon the Saharan region of Africa. Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
