Shiunden. (Palace of the Purple Clouds). Japan. Unregistered. Japanese suffruticosa. Flower semi-double reddish-purple flowers are carried on upright stems. Plants to 3 feet in height in Wisconsin, 2.5 feet in width. A historic cultivar of great beauty. Ships in late September to mid October. These are 2 year old grafted plants. While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden. Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
