Paladin.  Saunders.  1950.  Herbaceous hybrid.  Paladin produces carmine to cerise red colored single flowers.  The flowers often display themselves as cupped or tulip formed, which is extremely attractive.   Plants are dwarf in stature and have beautiful wide, deep green foliage.  A good plant for the front of the garden as it is rather short (18-20 inches) and stands straight up.   Roots are highly adventitious.   No fertility noted.   Parentage:  (lactiflora #1875 x peregrina/officinalis -Perry-).  Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
