Hecate. 2024. Bremer. Advanced Generation Lutea Hybrid. Parentage: (Seidl #15 x Rosalind Elsie Franklin). Seedling number: NB10. Large single/semi-double flowers with 3 rows of petals (some would consider this a semi-double) are a clear lavender color over cream base. Flowers fade to reveal the cream colored base with lavender highlights and picotee. Dark maroon filaments, coral-lavender sheath and pink stigmas. Petals are large and rounded with ruffling, notching and crimping. Long stems are suitable for cutting. Flower stems may have a side bud when well grown. The large plants have outstanding large well formed dark foliage and making this cultivar a good choice for the landscape. Striking and easy to grow. Hecate was a Greek goddess who was recognized as the goddess of the moon, the night, dogs, sorcery, and ghosts. She was worshiped in ancient Athens as a guardian of households. The name is fitting for this strong growing and beautiful cultivar. Fertile both ways when a compatible partner is used in the cross.  A favorite of visitors to the gardens.  Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
