Kalinka. Seidl/Bremer. 2025. Herbaceous Hybrid. Parentage: ‘Little Corporal’ x (Lemon Chiffon x The Mackinac Grand). Double flowers are deep red, held on short, stout and erect stems. Ruffled petals are wide and lightly notched along edges. Plants reach a height of 22″ and are clothed in large, very deep green foliage to the ground. Leaves are wide and puckered, creating a unique foil for the well-formed flowers. Buds are beautiful as they open.  Plants require excellent drainage and should be grown on the dry-side (more so than other peonies). Has red stigmas and filaments. Sparse pollen and seeds are possible with compatible parents (difficult).  May be useful for crosses aimed at short/stout/erect plants with double formed flowers.  A unique cultivar, which will not be confused with any other cultivars. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
