Csilla.  2026. Klehm/Bremer.  Suffruticosa Group.  Seedling #: RK16-49.  Parentage unknown, but was likely derived from multiple generations that included Toichi Domoto cultivars.  The large (8-inch) semi-double ruffled flowers are a clean white, with small, brushed pink flares.  Plants in bloom are standouts for their ornately formed flowers.  Buds are carried one per stem and appear to be giant tea rose buds.  The flower carriage is upright, and flowers are carried at the top of foliage.  Carpels are greenish-yellow and are covered by a tawny-coral segmented sheath.  Filaments are light yellow, and stigmas are a deeper, brighter yellow.   The dark green foliage is large and wide, with deep segments.  Stem hardiness is excellent in Wisconsin, showing no damage after winter, to date.  Plants may reach 4 feet in height and 3 feet wide after 10 years.   Named for the bright star ‘Csilla’.  Pollen is fertile and seeds with effort.  Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
