Guest of Honor. Irvine/Sutherland. 2001. Advanced generation lutea hybrid.  Seedling #: Seedling # 110/8.  Parentage: not recorded. This cultivar exhibits semi-double cream flowers, heavily overlaid in deep pink.  Petals are round and have small maroon flares.  Plants are erect, making them somewhat unique in the Lutea Hybrid Group.  Stems can reach 4 feet in Wisconsin, and the plant’s width can reach three feet.  Foliage is large and deep green.  A rare plant in collections in the United States.  From Bill Seidl seed that was sent to New Zealand in the 1990s.  Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
