Purple Prince

Purple Prince.  Irvine/Sutherland.  2001.  Advanced Generation Lutea Hybrid. Seedling # 467/13.  Parentage: SH58 x ‘Rosalind Elsie Franklin’, (SH58 is SH11 x Zephyrus, SH11 is D223 x Chinese Dragon).  Grown from seed produced from Bill Seid’s Lutea hybridizing program and selected in New Zealand. Semi-double flowers are a deep, clear lavender, and petals are layered to create a beautiful presentation.  Flower carriage is upward and outward.  Excellent plant habit and clean, healthy Lutea Hybrid foliage.  An excellent cultivar that has not seen wide distribution to date.   Seed fertility noted.  Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
