Paeonia lactiflora.  Species. From seed collected in Russia (Siberia).  The species produces flowers of single form, and of milky white to light pink coloration.  Stems are long and wiry, carrying up to 6 side buds.  These are the ancestors of the numerous Lactiflora Group cultivars, which have been selected for various floral characteristics over the millennia.  Easy to grow, very hardy and an interesting addition to the species collection.  Highly fertile.  Ships in late September to mid-October.
