Burgundy Wine. Domoto/Klehm. American suffruticosa. Deep burgundy wine red (almost dark chocolate), semi-double flowers. Parentage: Moutan seedling raised by Toichi Domoto, first bloomed in 1987. It has stamens, pollen, seeds, and good substance with an abundant amount of bloom. Good stem strength, early bloom, excellent vigor, one bud per stem, clean foliage. Center yellow stamens show when blossoms fully open.  Plants are medium in size and grow to approximately 4′ x 4′ in Wisconsin. Superior. When in bloom, this plant stops people in their tracks!  Ships in late September to mid-October.  These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
