Sahohime (2 year graft)

Sahohime.  Japan.  Historic Japanese suffruticosa cultivar.   The highly ruffled semi-double flowers are a soft blush pink upon opening.  Petal bases are deeper pink.  Stigmas and sheath are bright pink.  Flowers are ornate and large.  Plants may reach 3 1/2 feet in Wisconsin, with a similar width.  Requires well-drained soils to remain healthy.  Seldom offered. Ships in late September to mid-October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
