Shima Daijin (2 year graft)

Shima Daijin.  (Island Minister).  Ikeuchi.  1952.  Unregistered historic Japanese suffruticosa cultivar.  Semi-double deep reddish-purple flowers.  A vigorous grower and quite floriferous. Fertile both ways. Ships in late September to mid-October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
