Silver Sails (2 year graft)

Silver Sales.  Saunders.  1948.  F1 lutea hybrid. Seedling #: 266.  Saunders’ Roman Gold Group. Single flowers are creamy yellow with nearly imperceptible plum flares.  Waxy stamens.  Filaments red.  Greenish-white sheath and stigmas.  Beautiful deep red stems and petioles.   Veins in leaves are red.  An interesting and beautiful plant that is rarely seen.  No fertility seen to date. Plants are slow-growing and remain short for us in Wisconsin. Part of Woody Peony Preservation Project.   Ships in late September to mid-October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
