Bordeaux. Saunders. 1943. Herbaceous Hybrid. (officinalis x lactiflora). Large, claret colored petals. Large center of yellow fringed stamens and petaloids. An early Japanese form. No fertility noted. Stems are clothed in deeply lobed, narrow leaves. No mechanical support is necessary and an outstanding show plant in the garden. Plants are notably disease resistant and are easy growers. Excellent and rarely available. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
