Golden Glow.  Glasscock.  1935.  Herbaceous hybrid.  American Peony Society Gold Medal winner, 1946.  Very early single. Color, scarlet red with orange tint. Bud round, stem long and stiff. Foliage narrow and light green. No fragrance. An excellent plant and flower, but a somewhat deceptive name.  The ‘golden’ describes the beautiful fluff of golden-yellow anthers that are visible once the blooms open.  (lactiflora x officinalis Otto Froebel).  No fertility noted.
