Paeonia officinalis plena cultivars.  Listed as a species, but likely ancient hybrids.   This group of plants are characterized by heavy double flowers which have various coloration.  Color range from near white, blush, pink to red.  All bloom in the early mid season and benefit from some support while in bloom.  Leaftets are lobed and rounded, somewhat wider and shorter than true P. officinalis species cultivars.  They are quite showy and have been a valued plant in gardens throughout Europe for centuries.  All benefit from well drained sunny growing locations.  Roots are often adventitious and have a wide tuberous form.  Our offering is for blooming size divisions of the various forms.  Read more about each offering. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
