Paeonia peregrina. Herbaceous species. Excellent deep red flowers with a great yellow buff of stamens and red stigmas. Flowers are typically cupped and face upward. Paeonia peregrina is a wide ranging species with many variations in plant habit, foliar characteristics and minor flower color differences. These are the authentic species and not hybrids. Foliage is deep green and lobed – variable by origin location. Excellent color and show! Must be grown in dry, well drained locations. Prefers a full sun location in the garden (not for the shade garden). This species is rarely available as blooming size divisions. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
