Big Ben. Auten. Lactiflora cultivar. 1943. The double flowers are dark red and medium-sized. Fragrant and is a good cut flower. Plants produce smaller side buds. Flowers are good openers in warmer climates. Stems are relatively stout and do not require support. Well-grown plants are tall and stand above most other peonies. No fertility noted. Premium divisions ship late September to mid-October.
