Carina. Saunders. 1944. Herbaceous hybrid. Brilliant, shockingly scarlet single to semi-double form flowers carried above nicely dissected foliage. Scarlet petals cupped around a small yellow circle of stamens. Perhaps the brightest red-flowered peony and a real knockout. 33″ or less in height. No fertility. Roots are adventitious. Excellent and quite showy! (Kelway’s Glorious x lobata of Perry). Premium divisions ship late September to mid-October.
