Chocolate Soldier. Auten. 1939. Herbaceous hybrid. A stellar dark rich red which can bloom semi-double to double, sometimes with a Japanese form. The flowers have a spectacular form and are always one of the most notable dark flowers in the garden. Anthers are yellow and stigmas are red. Often not an easily found cultivar in the trade and will be appreciated in any garden. Week 5 bloom time. Fertile with effort. (lactiflora x officinalis). Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
