Early Bird. Herbaceous hybrid. This is a P. tenuifolia hybrid with very fine foliage and a typical red single flower. Foliage is much narrower and longer than most other fernleaf hybrids. Height is about 24″, making it a bit taller and larger than most P. tenuifolia hybrids with fern-like leaves. Early Bird is also more forgiving in its cultural needs, making it a good choice for gardeners that struggle with the species. We purchased this plant from a Latvian grower some years ago. Something different if you enjoy fern leaf hybrids. Week 3 bloom time. No fertility noted as yet. Ships in late September to mid-October.
