Edulis Superba

Sold Out

Edulis Superba.  Lemon. 1824.  Lactiflora cultivar.  An old heirloom variety that is tough as nails!  Large double pink bomb flowers are fragrant.  Plants look best with some support.  A good cut flower that has better than average lasting qualities.  Easy to grow and adaptable to many soils.  Plants grow vigorously on our heavy clay soils.  The gold standard for outstanding peony fragrance – its what most people think of when peony fragrance comes to mind.  This plant is heavily used for production of nurse roots in our woody peony grafting program.  Roots from this cultivar are nearly indestructible and are not adventitious (good reason for their use).   Produces seed. Premium divisions ship late September to mid October.
