Lady Gay. Saunders. 1950. Herbaceous hybrid. One of the Saunders quad hybrids (albiflora, officinalis, macrophylla, and mlokosewitschi). Pale rose with prominent dark maroon flares and a brilliant yellow center. Petals ruffled. Very striking and a beautiful plant habit. Roots are mildly adventitious and grow new plants relatively easily. Rare and seldom offered. Premium divisions ship late September to mid-October.
