Paeonia anomala ssp. veitchii

Paeonia anomala subspecies veitchii.  Herbaceous species.  East Asia.  This is a highly variable species that ranges in plant size from only 20 inches to more than 3 feet.    Flowers are deep pink, single and nodding.   Foliage is finely cut and makes wonderful shade garden plants.  This species does very well in broken sun (light shade), but can be grown in full sun.  Plants often have side buds. This plant should be everyone’s shade garden.  Easy to grow in a place that does not become hot or wet.  Premium divisions ship late September to mid-October.
