Red Charm.  Glasscock.  1944.  Herbaceous hybrid.  1956 American Peony Society Gold Medal winner.  APS ‘Best In Show’-1951, 1965.  Red Charm is a huge double red.  Flowers are stunning due to the color saturation, number of petals, and size.  The texture of the flower is that of plastic.  The 36″ stems are strong and hold the large blooms erect, for the most part.  Foliage is deep green and healthy, but may begin to show wear and tear late in the season. Red Charm is one of the more popular modern hybrids and should definitely get consideration by anyone who wants to grow peonies.  We’ve not seen seed, but others report production. Week 4-5 bloom time. (lactiflora x officials). Premium divisions ship from late September to mid-October.
