Scarlet O’Hara.  Glasscock/Falk.  1956.  Herbaceous hybrid.  American Peony Society Award of Landscape Merit. Scarlet O’Hara is one of the most vigorous, showy plants we grow.  The large single flowers open red-pink and fade to pink as they age.  Pink stigmas, green carpels, and yellow stamens.  At the center is a gorgeous tuft of yellow stamens to provide an accent.  Plants are on the tall side (40″) and grow with tremendous vigor.  Stems are sturdy, and foliage is a nice dark green.  No fertility.  Parentage: (officinalis x lactiflora). Premium divisions ship from late September to mid-October.
