Top Hat. Reynolds. 1971. Lactiflora Group. Small flowers are bright cardinal red and of Japanese form. Petals often arise from within the mass of staminoides, making for an interesting display (a top hat). No stamens. Amber, red, tipped carpels. Guards slightly recurved, center moderately compact. 32-34″ in height. Foliage is deep green and full to the ground. 2-3 buds per stem. Floriferous- plants are covered in blooms annually. Seedling #: 43-14. Very unique and top performer – just look at the images! Premium divisions ship from late September to mid-October.
