Trafford W. Bigger

Trafford W. Bigger.  Bigger.  1966.  Lactiflora cultivar.  Parentage:  Charm x unknown. The large, very dark chocolate red Japanese form flowers are all one color except for the small yellow tip edges on the staminodes. The large petals are variable in form and elongate as the flower ages, creating unique forms.  The color holds well in the hot sun. Dark green foliage on thirty-six-inch stems carries numerous buds (3 to 5 side buds).  Benefits from mechanical support.  Plants are fast-growing and put on a great show.  Seedling #17-59.  Fertility unknown. Premium divisions ship from late September to mid-October.
