Westerner.  Bigger. 1942.  Lactiflora Group. Very large flowers are carried on stiff stems. Japanese form flowers have light pink guard petals surrounding a center made up of light yellow staminodes.  A well-organized, large flower that is often ignored (it’s quite outstanding).  Very consistent grower and bloomer.  No mechanical support needed. Has proven to be an excellent seed parent.  Awarded the American Peony Society’s Gold Medal in 1982. Premium divisions ship from late September to mid-October.
