Storm Warning

Storm Warning.  Bremer.   2025.  P. rockii influence hybrid.  (“Yin Zhuang Su Guo” x ‘Angel Emily’).  Seedling #SH129.  Semi-double to double flowers are violet-purple in color.  Petals twist, turn, and are highly notched/frilled at the outer edges.  Stimas are light red, and filaments are the same color and lighten toward the end.  Pollen and seed fertility. Foliage is red-tinted in the early part of the season.  Leaflets are small and well-spaced.  Flowers are carried in profusion at the top of the plants.   5.5-inch blooms are well-proportioned and displayed well.  Dormant buds after leaf fall are bright red and ornamental.  Excellent stem hardiness.  Plants are vase-shaped and reach 4 feet in height in Wisconsin.  The overall appearance of the flowers is ornate and lacy.  Parent to many fine seedlings under evaluation. Superior! Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
