Canary. Saunders. 1940. F1 Lutea hybrid. Parentage: 272 lutea X tree peony (Moutan) ‘Canary’ has some of the brightest, clear yellow flowers among the Saunders peonies. Flowers are well-formed and have good substance. Narrow medium red flares adorn the petal bases. Plants are upright, clothed in large, broad foliage. Plants are medium in size for a Lutea hybrid. A collector plant, worth growing in any garden. Part of Saunders’ Roman Gold group. Ships in late September to mid-October. AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
