Clytie. Daphnis. 1995. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. First bloomed in 1975. BC 2. (Back Cross 1 x Red Rascal). Single, pure white with dark red flares in the center. Clytie is named for a water nymph (Greek). This is a collector plant, but it is of easy culture and quite nice. Pollen fertility (low), seed fertility (low). One bud per stem. Good stem strength, height 3.5 feet in Wisconsin. Vigorous grower with medium-dark green, wide foliage. Seedling # D-343.
