Cranapple.  Saunders.  Unregistered.  Lutea Hybrid.  Cream with hints of red.  This plant was known by Silvia Saunders as ‘Cranapple’ and was likely seedling #12788.   The terminals are often killed during cold winters and bloom is sparse afterward.  Foliage has many small lobes with sharp points and attractive.  Plant produces many ground stems and is a prolific grower.  Parentage unknown. Does produce sparse amounts of seed, as expected.  A historic cultivar sought by Saunders peony collectors.   Ships in late September to mid October.   AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
