Ghost Light.  2024. Klehm/Bremer.  Advanced Generation Lutea Hybrid.  Parentage unknown, but was produced from William Seidl origin plants and certainly has Roslind Elsie Franklin in its lineage.  Seedling #RK15-28.  Semi-double flowers are tropical orange with blends of mango, pink and yellow.   The overall affect is an irridescent orange blend unlike any other cultivar.   In our gardens and on the show table, flowers are the orange and do not fade to yellow like many other cultivars identified with this color.  Petals are wide, notched along the outer edges, and highly ruffled.  Flares are long and deep maroon, adding intrigue.  Filaments yellow with maroon bases, stigmas are light orange and the sheath is lavender-pink.  Flower stems are stiff and hold flowers upright above foliage.  Sparse amounts of pollen and limited seed production to date.  Awarded BEST SEEDLING and forwarded to the COURT OF HONOR at the 2023 Syracuse, New York, American Peony Society Flower Show.  Plants have outstanding deep green foliage, exhibiting narrower segments than normally seen in advance generation lutea hybrids and stands up well to adverse climate conditions.   Plants are handsome out of bloom and are good candidates for small landscape speciments.   Overall plant height in our harsh Wisconsin environment is around 32 inches, but may be more in less rigorous climates.  An easy grower,  Ghost Light is already in high demand.  Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
