He Ping Lan. Dezhong-China. Circa 1985. P. rockii influence hybrid . Chinese Gansu Mudan. Single to semi-double purplish-violet coloration. Deep black flares. A broad mound shaped plant to 4 feet in Wisconsin. Produces a multitude of medium-small flowers. Striking color contrast. Foliage is made up of many small notched leaflet and extremely attractive. Difficult seed fertility. Slow to propagate due to late bud development during grafting season. Ships in late September to mid October. AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
