Hesperus

Hesperus.  Saunders.  1948.  F1 lutea hybrid.  Seedling #: 16544.  Saunders’ Banquet Group.  Single old rose pink with yellow undertones and deep pink veins.  A lovely flower and excellent plant.  Stem hardiness is fair for an F1 hybrid, and blooms are carried well above foliage or to the side.  Some years color can be copper-rose, and as the flowers age, the centers of petals turn cream.  An excellent and vigorous cultivar.   Plants are good upright growers.  Foliage is finely cut. Parentage unknown.  Rarely available. Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
