Hong Guan Yu Zhu. Dezhong. Circa 1985. P. rockii influence hybrid. Chinese Gansu Mudan. Semi-double to double light rose-purple with many fringed petals that are turned in many directions toward the center. Dark basal flares generally not visible on double flowers. Flares show as white on the underside of the petals. Beautiful small leaflets on broad plants (to 4 feet in Wisconsin). Good hardy stems. Seed fertility noted. Mid season woody peony bloom time. Ships in late September to mid October. AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
