Irena Sendler.  Seidl/Bremer.  2017.  Advanced generation lutea hybrid.  (Anna Marie x Rosalind Elsie Franklin).  Semi-double to double medium lilac lavender with maroon flares. Well ruffled and notched petal segments. Red sheath and filaments. Pink stigmas. A smaller mounded plant that carries its flowers outward.  Excellent foliage and an outstanding beauty.  Bill Seidl named the plant to commemorate the Polish Nurse that worked to save Jews during WWII.  She was responsible for saving more Jewish lives than any single person during the war.  She was captured by the German Gestapo, tortured and sentenced to death.  Fortunately she escaped and survived the war.  Irena was the recipient of many humanitarian awards later in life. Ships late September to mid October.  Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
