Milky Way.  Irvine/Sutherland.  2001.  Lutea Hybrid.  Seedling # 515/4. Lutea Hybrid. Parentage: Unknown creamy white x ‘Rosalind Elsie Franklin’. The large, heavily petaled, semi-double flowers are light yellow when opening, and then quickly turn creamy-white.  The interior petals have a pink blush and are smaller than the outer petals.  Plants are slow to grow and remain relatively small (34″ high and wide after 10 years in Wisconsin), but are not difficult to grow.  Flowers are carried on large stems and face to the side.  Foliage is large and waxy.  A rare and unique plant that is stunning when in bloom.  Grown from seed sent to New Zealand in the 1990s from Bill Seid’s hybridizing program.  Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.

Color: Blush, White-Cream
