Mystery. Saunders. 1948. F1 lutea hybrid. Large flower of pearled lavender, with darker shading, varied with palest green. Foliage is fine with red shading and flowers are carried outward. Mystery and another Saunders cultivar, Princess, may have been mixed up in the trade to the point of no return. With this in mind we have researched our plant as much as possible and believe it to be the true Mystery. I doubt Professor Saunders wanted ‘Mystery’ to be a mystery. Outstanding flowers that are extremely soft in coloration. Rare. Woody Peony Preservation Project Cultivar. Ships in late September to mid October. AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
