Oukan

Oukan.  Jessel. Registered in Japan. Lutea hybrid.  Large yellow, many-petaled, semi-double yellow with maroon flares. Parentage: (High Noon x Shinfuso).  This cross is a Lutea Hybrid backcrossed to a Japanese Suffruticosa cultivar.  Superior to High Noon for plant habit and floral display. The flower carriage is upright, and plants produce abundant blooms.  Excellent and deserves to be grown more widely. Foliage is heavy and is carried on thick stems.  The cultivar Oukan was registered through the Japanese cultivar database by Walter H Jessel, Jr, 515 C. Chardonnay Drive, Gonzales, California, USA.  Fertility is unknown at this time. Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
