Pan. Bremer. 2021. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Parentage: (Theresa Ann x unknown). Seedling #NB-SH136. Pan produces medium sized light yellow double flowers with interior petals exhibiting red wire edged petals and blush. Outer petals are larger and ruffled. Interior petals protrude upward are more numerous and highly notched. Light red sheath and filaments. Insignificant light red flares are concealed within the petals. Upon opening flowers are rather flat and the central petals grow to create a higher build as they mature. Guard petal are  very wide compared to those in the interior.  While the flowers are outstanding the plant is even more impressive due to the height it achieves in our rigorous conditions – up to 5 feet in our Wisconsin climate. Flowers are displayed evenly around the tall vase shaped plants and are carried upward and outward. Stem hardiness may be the best of any of the lutea hybrids we grow, enduring our cold winters without significant damage. Oddly this plant required 7 years to bloom for its first time in 2016 and it was quite large – producing 15 flowers upon first bloom. Plants have been annually productive equaling or bettering maiden bloom. Foliage is deep blue-green, relatively broad and attractively displayed. Easily fertile pollen and seed. This plant, at least for us, represents progress in plant habit, fertility and bloom consistency over commonly available yellow lutea hybrid cultivars. Named for Greek God of Nature and Genetics in relation to its vigor and natural beauty.  Superior.  Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
