Prometheus. Daphnis. 1977. Lutea hybrid. Seedling # D-359. Flowers are large, semi-double to single, and red with dark basal flares. Much resembles Boreas in floral and plant habit, but the plants are not as upright. Not particularly fertile, although its pollen may be useful. Grows to 3.5 feet in height by 5 feet in width in Wisconsin. An easy subject to grow. Prometheus=Titan, –brought fire to man. Parentage: Generation—BC-3; D-101 (BC-1) x J-2 (Daioh). Ships in late September to mid-October. AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
