Rainbow Bridge. Bremer. 2021. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. (Brassy Lady x Seidl #137). The medium sized semi-double flowers open a brilliant coral-red which overlays a cream base. Newly opening buds are much like roses in their form. As flowers age the outer 3/4ths of the petals fade to a lighter pink and then finally to creamy pink, while the interior remains somewhat darker. Petals are lightly ruffled and centrally notched. The interior row of petals is shorter than outer rows and protrude upward giving the flowers a fuller form. This cultivar will express somewhat different colors from year to year due to climate variables (many lutea hybrids do this), but is beautiful in any of it color renditions. Short maroon flares are nearly hidden and are not a prominent feature of the flower. Sheath, filaments and stigmas are red. Plants are relatively short in Wisconsin, reaching 32 inches. Flowers are carried upward and outward on sturdy stems and flower presentation is excellent. Leaves are somewhat finer than many lutea hybrids and are quite attractive, expressing red tints variably throughout the early part of the season. Fertile pollen. Seed with effort when compatible partners are used. The brilliant and somewhat variably colored flowers are cause for naming it ‘Rainbow Bridge’.  Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
