Royal Road.  Irvine/Sutherland.  2001.  Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Single to semi-double flowers are a rich purple that darken toward the center.  Large, broad, dark maroon flares and filaments accent the red stigmas and petal color.  Plants are strong growers and present the flowers well. Three feet in height, by 4 feet in width (Wisconsin).  Fertility unknown at this time.  Seedling #467/12.  Parentage:  (Seidl #58 x Rosalind Elsie Franklin).  Excellent and should be more widely grown. Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
