Sea of Tranquilty.  Gratwick.  1996.  American suffruticosa.  Chugai seedling. Parentage unknown. Flowers are pure white with variable red flares, semi-double and produced one per stem.  The three rows of petals are arranged in perfect order which seems as the white waves are immersed from the center to the outer space (per registration).  Plants grow to 4+ feet in Wisconsin and somewhat less in width.  Fertile pollen and and produces seeds.  Rarely seen in commerce and a Woody Peony Preservation Program cultivar. Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
