Seidei (2 year graft)

Seidei.  Japan.  Unregistered.  Historic Japanese suffruticosa.  The very large double flowers are pink and are ball-shaped on mature plants.  Petals are highly ruffled and have many small fringed notches along their edges.  Petals turn in different directions at the center to give the flower a very full form.  Excellent cold hardiness.  4′ at maturity in Wisconsin.  Fertile both ways (some effort required with seed). Ships in late September to mid-October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
