Shimano-fuji (2 year graft)

Shimano-fuji.  Japan.  Unregistered historic Japanese suffruticosa cultivar. Large Lavender with color variations.   Highly ruffled semi-double. Large size and one of the most striking Japanese suffruticosa cultivars. Stigmas reddish purple.  To 4 1/2 feet and 6 feet wide in Wisconsin, likely taller in less rigorous climates.  Fertile both ways.  Superior. Ships in late September to mid-October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
