Silver Plane.  Saunders.  1948.  F1 lutea hybrid. Seedling #: 16536.  Saunders’ Roman Gold Group. Single flowers are creamy yellow with plum colored flares.  Waxy stamens.  Filaments red.  Greenish-white sheath and stigmas.  Beautiful deep red stems and petioles.   Veins in leaves are red.  An interesting and beautiful plant that is rarely seen.  No fertility seen to date. Plants are slow-growing and remain short for us in Wisconsin. Part of Woody Peony Preservation Project.   Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
